Just hours after posting about the tragic off-season the NHL has gone through it was reported that a former Predator joined the list of current (and now former) players who have passed away this off-season. Wade Belak, 35, was found dead Wednesday in a Toronto hotel. Police say that foul play is not suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.
Belak was signed to be a sideline reporter for the Predators this season.
It is unclear whether Belak suffered any problems with addiction or depression, as was the case with the two other deaths since May. It is safe to say, however, these are dark days for the NHL. Our thoughts go out to the Belak family.
