One day before negotiations were to start back up between the National Hockey League and the Players’ Association, the NHL announced Thursday afternoon that they have decided to cancel all the 2012 preseason games on the schedule. On September 19, the NHL announced preseason games through September 30 would be cancelled.
Friday, the NHL and NHLPA plan to focus on non-economic issues in New York City. Which means the focus will be off the Hockey Related Revenue, but more on contract lengths and etc..
NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly told NHL.com’s Dan Rosen that they have blocked off Saturday and Sunday in case negotiations continue. Also, Daly said an agenda has been made that will be discussed Friday.
