Scott Hannan Joins the Nashville Predators

Just when you though Poile might be done with signing for this summer, defender Scott Hannan has inks a 1 year, one million dollar contract with the Predators.

Hannan, at 33, dressed for 72 games with the Calgary Flames last year contributing with two goals and 10 assists and a -10 rating. He is a hard working defensemen who will blend well into the Preds system, but it might be interesting to see with whom he is paired. A Gill and Hannan D-line would get roasted by any offensive unit worth it’s salt. A Weber-Hannan pairing would be interesting.

Hannan will look to contribute as a tough defender playing a good share of minutes, he averaged 20 a game last year. Hannan also has a lot of playoff experience, playing in 9 post season campains, 6 of which were with the Sharks.

Expect a Hannan to also contribute on the Penalty Kill. He is a solid addition to the Predators line up, and while he does have big shoes to fill, he will definitely be a welcome addition in and out of the locker room.
