Mikko Vainonen

Vainonen cut from Finland’s U20 team

Mikko Vainonen was cut from Team Finland's Under 20 World Juniors Championship team early Friday morning after a stunning exhibition win against Team Canada the day before. The Nashville Predators'  defensive prospect was one of three who were cut.

On the bright side, forward Miika Salomaki looks to be set on Team Finland's roster. In the game against Canada, Salomaki was on the first line with Mikael Grandlund and Joel Armia, two good prospects being brought up.

Watch out for Salomaki this tournament as he is expected to do big things.

USA Hockey plans to announce their final 23-man roster on December 23, hopefully with Jimmy Vesey on the list.

Max Gortz looks to make the Swedish National Team in time for the World Juniors as they make cuts on Christmas day.
