Kevin Wilson, Nashville Predators Player Relations guy, reported on Twitter, "Patric Hornqvist is on the plane to Denver. He's expected to be activated from injured reserve tomorrow morning." This comes just in time for the Monday afternoon game against the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drops at 2:07pm CT.

Hornqvist was injured in the first meeting between the Anaheim Ducks on January 26. Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf landed awkwardly on Hornqvist's leg. The team doctors diagnosed the Preds' grinder with a sprained knee and would be out 3-4 weeks.

With Hornqvist returning to the lineup Monday against the Avalanche, the assumption would be he would be back with the line of David Legwand and either Colin Wilson or Gabriel Bourque. If this was the case, that would mean Sergei Kostitsyn, who has underachieved this season, would be moved down to third line.

Having the Swedish forward back in the lineup gives the Predators more grit. They have been missing that net front presence, as of late. Expect the powerplay to improve. Prior to the injury, the Predators had a 18.18% conversion rate on the powerplay. After the injury, it dropped to 8.33% by going 3/36 with the man advantage. Currently, Nashville is ranked 22nd in the league with a 14.5% conversion rate.
