Moser, Klein score in 2-1 win

In their final home preseason game, the Nashville Predators were able to exact revenge on the Tampa Bay Lightning with a 2-1 win. Simon Moser, who is on a pro tryout agreement, scored the first goal of the game in the second period. The twenty-four-year-old Swiss native is making it hard for head coach Barry Trotz to finalize his roster. Kevin Klein scored the game-winner with under six minutes remaining in regulation. Pekka Rinne and Marek Mazanec split time between the pipes as Rinne stopped all fourteen shots faced (2; 12), while Mazanec was scored on by Steven Stamkos with forty-five seconds left in regulation. The Czech netminder made all of two saves for the night.

Forward Viktor Stalberg suffered a shoulder injury in the first period after being hit by Dmitry Korobov. Stalberg did not return and Trotz said after the game he would be out for the remainder of the preseason.
