Press Release: Preds prepare for their fifteen year anniversary

Next season, the Nashville Predators will have played fifteen years in the National Hockey League, a huge milestone for not only the organization, but the league as well because it justifies the expansion to teams in non-hockey markets. As a fan since Day 1, many memories have been made at the stadium on Broadway, whether it was called the Nashville Arena, Gaylord Entertainment Center, Sommet Center or Bridgestone Arena.

The Predators plan on celebrating their fifteenth anniversary in style throughout the entire next season. Below is the Press Release detailing already announced events, including the official 2013 draft party, which will be held at Dave & Buster's in Opry Mills at 2pm CT.

Nashville, Tenn. – The Nashville Predators will be celebrating their 15th anniversary during the 2013-14 season, and a wide-ranging set of initiatives and events are being planned to celebrate, starting with the unveiling of a commemorative logo today.

“The first 15 years of Nashville Predators history has been highlighted by memorable moments and popular individuals both on and off the ice,” Predators President/COO Sean Henry said. “We look forward to sharing these stories throughout the 2013-2014 season with the most important group from our first 15 years, our Loyal Legion – our fans – as we look toward more great moments in 2013-14 and beyond.”

Throughout the rest of the summer, will be the go-to spot for anniversary information. Starting today in conjunction with the announcement of the Predators’ 2013 draft party at Dave and Busters on Sunday, a three-part Expansion Draft series will be released, with members of the Nashville Predators Hockey Operations Department who were involved in the process, reliving the experience and all that the weekend of June 26-27, 1998 entailed. The Expansion Project will be followed by alumni and historical videos and written features leading up to a special 15th Anniversary website unveil in conjunction with the annual Skate of the Union celebration in September.

“When we started this franchise 15 years ago, we did so with a vision of how to create a successful product and grow the sport of hockey," Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile said. “We've come a long ways toward attaining those goals in that time, and we owe it to the city of Nashville and our loyal fans to celebrate 15 years of memories and milestones.”

Predators television broadcasts on FOX Sports Tennessee and Sportsouth, the Megatron in-arena, and Predators Radio Network will be reliving milestone moments in franchise history throughout the season. Plans are also in place to construct a Predators historical display with artifacts, educational elements and team-by-team presentations on the main concourse. The team will also release a “15 years in photos” book, in addition to a special edition yearbook during the first-half of the 2013-14 season.

Other programming throughout the 2013-14 season will include 15th anniversary-themed ticket packages, frequent visits by Nashville Predators alumni, fan contests/polls and commemorative giveaway items.
