Bringing Dan Ellis back to Nashville makes a lot of sense. Ellis is a capable back up and an upgrade from last season's Chris Mason. It is paramount that the Predators get a good back-up goaltender at a low price since Pekka Rinne is returning from hip surgery.
Last season, the 33-year old played in 19 games backing up Cam Ward. Ellis' stats weren't all that great however, but that was with the struggling Carolina Hurricanes defense. With the Predators', Ellis should see much more support.
