Jr. Predators are no more

Surprising news broke Tuesday when it was leaked that the Nashville Jr. Predators will be folding prior to the 2014-15 youth hockey seasons. Although it is not confirmed by the organization itself, sources have confirmed the news.

It is unknown as of now what the A-Game Sportsplex owners changed that upset the Predators. Hopefully that will be revealed soon.

Jr. Preds have served kids from 9 & under all the way up to 18 & under in various levels of AAA, Elite, AA, and A hockey since 2009.

This news comes as quite the shock because of the new rink being built in Antioch beside the Global Mall at the Crossings. With two new ice surfaces, it would seem to be a fit to allow more teams to have more practices.

Other travel teams such as the Southern Flyers and Storm/Jr. Admirals will have to re-emerge to facilitate the skilled players who will be unable to play for the Jr. Preds. A new rink also means the possibility of a new travel team with its home being at the Antioch rink.

More details are to come…
