Know the Enmy: Predators vs Ducks Preview

The Nashville Predators (25-23-10) will play host to the Anaheim Ducks (40-14-5) on Saturday night in their final game before the Olympic Break.

Anaheim enters the game having lost three in a row in regulation for the first time this season.  Although they’ve been shut out twice in a row, they still have the best offense in the league.

It will be tough for the Predators to come away with a win on Saturday but nonetheless, this is a must win if they plan on keeping their playoff hopes alive.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

 1. F Teemu Selanne.  All I can say is: legend.  This is probably the second to last time we’ll see the veteran winger play in Smashville.  Although there is a noticeable decline in his stats this season, he is still a serious offensive threat every time he steps on the Ice.

2.  D Cam Fowler:  The soon to be American Olympian is having a career year.  The young defenseman leads the team in TOI at 25:00+/mins per game.  He has also showed uncanny durability, not missing a game this season.

3.  G Jonas Hiller: Arguably one of the best goaltenders in the league when he’s healthy.  His 5 on 5 play has been nothing short of stellar, he has an eye popping .950 save percentage in even strength situations.    In his last outing he stopped 27 of 29 shots in a 2-0 loss to Chicago on Thursday.  (Both goals he allowed were on the power play).
