Defenseman Kevin Klein isn't known on the Nashville Predators' roster as an "enforcer" or "fighter", but when the time comes to drop the mitts, Klein doesn't hold back. Before Monday night's match against the Dallas Stars, Klein entered the game with just 16 penalty minutes and two fights.
At 16:58 into the second period, Klein bouted with Dallas Stars' forward Antoine Roussel. And boy, was that a fight to remember.
A similar fights occurred on November 23 against New York Rangers' enforcer Derek Dorsett. Nashville fans may remember Dorsett from his time in Columbus. Well, Klein surprised everyone and showed Dorsett who was boss.
On December 14 earlier this season, Klein went up against against James Sheppard of the San Jose Sharks. Although it was a little less exciting than the other two, it was able to get the crowd roaring.
Even in juniors, Klein was relentless when giving it a go.
It is obvious to know his strategy. Klein fights like a hockey player should — not holding back, hesitating or waiting for the other guy to make the first move. Instead, he relentlessly throws wild punches that will land to the face of the opponent. So big stick tap to Kleiner for the energy he can provide.
