Patric Hornqvist not on Sweden Olympic Roster

9 goals and 15 assists with the offensively challenged Nashville Predators isn't enough to get Patric Hornqvist a look on the Swedish Olympic roster.

Hours after the announcement that the injured Pekka Rinne was, understandably, left off the Finnish roster, it appears that Hornqvist will also be staying at home during the Olympic break.

The lines for Sweden could look something like this:

D. Sedin (VAN), H. Sedin (VAN), Eriksson (BOS)
Zetterberg(DET), Backstron (WSH), Franzen (DET)
Landeskog (COL), Berglund (STL) , Steen (STL)
Hagelin (NYR) , Kruger (CHI), Silfverberg (ANA),
With the reserves being Daniel Afredsson and Jimmie Ericsson of the Swedish Elite league. You could argue that it Hornqvist would be a better fourth liner than Hagelin and Silfverberg and almost definitely a better alternate than Ericsson.

Hornqvist is most likely holding one of the top alternate spots in case of injury.

Simon Moser of the Admirals and Roman Josi made the Swiss team yesterday. While Rinne was not on the Finnish Roster today. Former Predator Martin Erat was also left off the Czech roster. The Canadian team will announce their roster later this morning, where Shea Weber is a likely participant.
