The Fangover: Preds fall to Sens 2-1 in Shootout

Despite a flurry of chances late and in overtime, the Nashville Predators fell to the Ottawa Senators by a score of 2-1 in a shootout. The Preds pick up a point and are now 19-20-7 on the season.

In the 2nd period, following a Mattias Ekholm giveaway behind the Preds net, Kyle Turris stole the puck and quickly put it by goaltender Marek Mazanec. Mike Fisher answered later with a goal against his former team.

In overtime, Marc Methot took a holding the stick penalty, resulting in a Preds powerplay. On the man advantage, the Preds set up Shea Weber for the one-timer twice but he missed the net on both occasions.

Overtime settled nothing and in the shootout, both Mika Zibanejad and Jason Spezza scored to give the Senators the win.

The Preds outshot the Sens 33-21 overall. Next up, the Preds are at home to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night.
