Scott Ford Returns on a One-Year Deal

The Sheriff is back in town.

Today, the Milwaukee Admirals announced that 33 year old defenseman Scott Ford signed a one-year deal to return to Milwaukee.  This will be the former captain's sixth season in the Brew City.

The Canadian born Ford has yet to be called up to the Predators, but has done a lot for the Admirals.  He is the team's all time leader in games played, with 300.  After starting out last season in the St. Louis Blues' system playing for the Peoria Rivermen, Ford was traded back to the Admirals on February 19.  He helped the Ads post a record of 15-4-1 down the last stretch of the season to propel the team into the Calder Cup Playoffs.  That makes 11 straight years that the Admirals have made the playoffs, which is a current AHL record.

"Scott has not only been an integral part of our team on the ice, but he has also been a fantastic member of our community.  It's great to have him back for another season in an Admirals uniform," said Admirals Governor and CEO Harris Turer in a release.

"The Sheriff" has worn the captain's "C" during the 2011-2012 season, as well as the assistant captain's "A" from the 2008-2009 season through the 2010-2011 season.  We'll just have to wait and see if that "C" returns to his sweater for this season.
